London Colney Cricket Club Saturday 2nd XI v Southgate Adelaide II on Sat 19 May 2007 at 1.30pm
London Colney Cricket Club Won by 8 wickets

The 2nd XI meanwhile claimed their second win of the season, but in a rather disappointing game against an under-strength Southgate Adelaide II. Stricken by poor availability, Adelaide took the field with at least 6 colts, and when invited to bat first after Colney skipper Paul Seymour won the toss, elected to try and graft out a score. In the event, all it did was make the something of a bore, as Colney’s visitors, making no attempt to play a shot against anything that was off-straight, crawled to 83 all out in the 48th over, with the top scorer making 15 at a rate of one single every third over. The damage was done by Matt Irvine (4-27) and Trevor Ray (4-15), with maiden league wickets for Mitch Bradley and Connor Dow.
Colney were never seriously troubled by the target, despite losing a couple of wickets early. Adam Buckmaster, continuing to impress in his maiden season for the club with an unbeaten 54, and Alex McCartney (25*), knocked off the runs in the 22nd over, to leave Colney II in the top 3 after the first three games, something they surely would have settled for at the start of their first season in Division 7.
