London Colney Cricket Club

London Colney CC 1st XI will begin their 2008 campaign with an away visit to local rivals Shenley Village, while the 2nd XI will host Little Berkhamsptead Sahibs. For full fixture lists visit the Herts League Website Our fixtures can be found on Fixture Page.

The Club dinner and Dance was held at the Quality Hotel, London Road, St Albans on Friday 30th November 2007. The 2007 player trophy's were presented. The full list is displayed on the Club Honours Board. A special award and mention was made to Paul Hadley for saving the life of a young by who had drowned. A presentation was also made to the Club Scorer, Christine Fretter.

This site has now been up and running for 1 month (30th May 2007).

The number of hits has risen steadily, and currently stands at just over 1000. We have had hits from Australia, USA and South Africa.

We are on the Google and Altavista search engines, which are also linked to other, minor sites. However, these can take 3-4 weeks for the automatic spiders to find our site. Therefore we should expect to see our hits rise considerably.

This site is for your use, so please use it. Please encourage all members to register and check it often.

I am attempting to find sponsors for some of the match day costs i.e. balls and teas. This will mean that we can channel your match fees to other improvements in the club.

I am in the process of writing to all businesses in the village in an attempt to raise some long term sponsors. We already have Aylett Nurseries, who have offered to fund some small items, but we require perhaps 1-2 major sponsors (£1,000-£2,000), along with numbers of smaller sponsors for such things as the match balls, which doesn't require a big commitment.

Could I ask you all, as members of the club, to try to actively seek out sponsor opportunities for the club, perhaps your employers or friends/relatives. If anyone is interested, I'll be willing to discuss the matter with them.
