Roxbourne v London Colney Cricket Club Sunday 2nd XI on Sun 05 Jul 2009 at 1.30
Match was Drawn

Match report After a good start with a wicket in the first over (a great diving catch by George Ray), London Colney struggled to get the next wicket with over one hundred runs being added. A fast outfield combined with some poor fielding meant that scoring rate was over 5 runs an over However, Steve Rouse provided the break through followed by Brian Ray picking up a caught and bowled. John Gibbons and Greg Springall then mopped up the tail with Mark Edwards taking three good catches at mid-wicket.

A solid opening stand between Trevor Ray and John Gibbons (55) saw London Colney to 102 before the loss of the first wicket. The usual middle order collapse followed, albeit in the search for quick runs, and the game closed with London Colney on 177 for 6. A good game played in a good spirit.
