London Colney Cricket Club Saturday 1st XI v Rickmansworth on Sat 10 Jun 2017 at 1:00pm
Match was Drawn 20 PTS

Match report London Colney went into the game aginast Rickmansworth full of confidence hacing not lost in the other format. Skipper Hadley lost another toss and was was asked to field. This seemed like a bad decision from the Rickmansworth skipper as the Colney opening bowlers bowled fast and aggressive to leave Rickmansworth 50 for 5. Andy Cole with two wickets in two balls with short sharp bowling. Meanwhile at the other end Tim Fretter was bowling full swinging deliveries. After this Colney seemed to take there foot of the pedal thinking the job was done and the bowling and fielding became very poor for the rest of the innings. The Rickmansworth batsmen were starting to become comfortable and scoring runs where they shouldn't. There innings was based around a 122 from Taz who was dropped 5 or 6 times by the Colney fielders. Rickmansworth were finally bowled out for 240 in 50 overs which was probably 140 more than they should of got. It was always going to be a tough task for Colney to chase the score set.
Colneys innings got off to a bad start with the lost of Fisher for 2. This brought to the crease Graham Seymour. After the loss of Bradley(10), Seymour and skipper Hadley was finding battoing bvery easy and punishing anything wayward from the Rickmansworth bowlers. The run rate increased but never enough for Colney to be comfortable in winning the game. Hadley departed, run out for a well played 48 having put on over 100 runs with Seymour. Colney tried to up the scored but then lost wickets regularly. The only mainstay of the innings was Graham Seymour who scored a magnificent 106 not out to become the oldest player to score a century for Colney and his first for the club. It was an excellent innings mixed with some exquisite shots and hard running. A well deserved 100. Colney managed 207 in reply to Rickmansworth 240 which left them with the full 20 bonus points and Rickmansworth with 17. Not a good day at the office for Colney but one to remember for Graham Seymour. Up next for Colney is Welwyn Garden city.
