Redbourn II v London Colney Cricket Club Saturday 1st XI on Sat 29 Apr 2017 at 1:00pm
London Colney Cricket Club Won By 6 wickets

Match report London Colney proved too strong for Redbourn in the end. London Colney won the toss and skipper Hadley decided to field on a pitch that looked like it was August not April. With some wayward bowling first up and extras piling up Redbourn were going on nicely at 4 runs an over. The run rate slowed when Hadley and Bristow were introduced but Richard Blairs well made 100 put Redbourn in a commanding position at the half way mark. Colneys opening Pair of Zeiderman and Bristow took the attack to the Rebourn bowlers punishing anything that was over pitched and wayward. They had put on 102 when Bristow inside edged one onto his stumps. This brought in Graham Seymour who carried on were Bristow left off. Waiting for the bad ball and making the most of it. But it was Rick Zeiderman who was the more attacking of the pair moving swiftly pass 50 and racing into the 90s. Just as it was looking odds on for Zeiderman to score his maiden 100 for the club he edged a wide one to the keeper for a well made 94. Scott Hadley and Cian Davidson had a short partnership were Davidson was run out with a brilliant direct hit. It was left to captain Hadley and Tim Fretter to see the side home with overs to spare. A good work out for all concerned. Need to work on a few areas as extras were 36. Bovingdon away for the first league game next week for Colney.
